    About Us

Scouting America National Capital Area Council (NCAC) is one of the largest local councils in the nation, dedicated to preparing young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes. Serving the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Northern Virginia, we provide character development and values-based leadership training to youth from kindergarten through age 20. Our programs—ranging from Cub Scouting to Scouts BSA, to Venturing, to Sea Scouts, to Explorers—are powered by the dedication of volunteers who help instill the values of the Scout Oath and Law. By joining us, you help empower the next generation to be "Prepared. For Life.®," fostering self-confidence, community service, and leadership skills in thousands of young people across our region.
