    • Mission

    The 2017-2022 mission of SALVUS Wellness Dance Center Inc. (501c-3) is two-fold. First, to bring ballroom dance education and social activities to the underserved seniors of Coral Gable, South Miami, and Coconut Grove communities of Miami. Second, to fashion a safe, affordable, and tolerant, multicultural space where seniors (ages 55 plus) can learn to express themselves and sustain an active lifestyle through ballroom dancing. This safe space is a critical element in the care and nurturing of a senior’s self-esteem, sense of independence and healthy lifestyle. Our goal is to enhance the cognitive, artistic, social, educational, and physical fitness skills of underserved seniors.

    About Us

    SALVUS Wellness Dance Center Inc. (501c-3) accepts the challenge to make dancing affordable, and promote the scientifically proven health benefits of dance to a broader audience. The National Council on Aging (2016) asserts that senior center participants have higher levels of health social interaction and life satisfaction despite lower income levels.

    This center will collaborate with the doctors and physician assistants affiliated with Salvus Medical Clinic. This clinic established 10 years ago boasts a Podiatrist, a Physiatrist (who treats a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons), a Massage therapist and a PA (specializing in cardiovascular disease) all of whom are ballroom dancers who are proponents of the cardiovascular benefits of ballroom dancing. SALVUS Wellness Dance Center is currently in the process of gaining accreditation through the National Council on Aging.
