The Veteran Advocacy Project was founded in 2010 and has served thousands of veterans and their family members over the years. We specialize in working with veterans who have been cut off from VA health care and benefits because of a less-than-honorable discharge, often due to misconduct that was actually a symptom of PTS or traumatic brain injury. Our collaborations include homelessness prevention with Jericho Project and Services for the UnderServed, medical-legal partnerships with Vet Centers and Community Healthcare Network, a system of federally qualified health centers, and outreach and services for veterans and families with Black Veterans for Social Justice. From intake at Rikers to hearings in D.C., VAP fights for the benefits veterans have earned.
