The Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence (“Wadhwani AI” or “WIAI”) is a nonprofit dedicated to leveraging AI to address significant challenges in healthcare, education, and agriculture in India and globally. WIAI was co-founded in 2018 by Romesh and Sunil Wadhwani - longtime technology entrepreneurs, innovators, and philanthropists - through their respective philanthropic foundations. What began as an initiative to prove that AI could scale inside public health systems in India has grown into a platform that has impacted over 125 million lives across 25+ deployed solutions in areas like tuberculosis, maternal and child health, and early childhood reading fluency.
