At Anchor & Legacy With A Purpose, Inc., our mission is to build a Legacy through Mentorship. We aim to guide young adults in our community who have lost loved ones to homicide, through a step-by-step approach toward their dreams through education, trade skills, and life-path coaching. We meet our neighbors in their darkest moments to ensure their future is defined by their potential, not their pain.

Anchor & Legacy With A Purpose, Inc. is a Boston-based founding nonprofit born out of a sister’s promise to her brothers. We are a "boots-on-the-ground" organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of violence through a unique blend of immediate bereavement support and long-term youth mentorship. We don't just provide services; we build foundations for a new future.

Our Core Values

• Legacy-Driven: We believe every life lost to violence deserves to be honored with dignity and a permanent memorial.
• Trauma-Informed: We recognize that grief is often the root of justice-system involvement. Our approach starts with healing the heart first.
• Economic Empowerment: We believe a stable trade career (Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC, etc.) is a primary shield against the cycle of recidivism.
• Radical Compassion: From "Blessing Bags" for the unhoused to emergency pet care for low-income neighbors, we meet people exactly where they are.

Whom We Serve

We serve the heart of the Boston community, specifically:

1. Families of Homicide Victims: Providing financial and navigational support for burials and headstones to ensure no family grieves without dignity.
2. Justice-Involved Young Adults: Mentoring those who have lost loved ones to violence as they transition back into the community, guiding them toward trade education and life-path coaching.
3. Our Unhoused Neighbors: Providing immediate relief through food, hygiene essentials, and seasonal necessities.

Our "Step-by-Step" Philosophy

At Anchor & Legacy, we meet our neighbors in their darkest moments to ensure their future is defined by their potential, not their pain. We are currently seeking founding partners—specifically a Treasurer and a Clerk—who want to help build this foundation and turn this vision into a lasting Boston institution.
