About Us

The goal of the Center for Metabolic Biology is to define and develop methodologies with which to manipulate the physiological, biochemical, molecular and genetic mechanisms responsible for insulin resistance and its manifestations, including obesity, hypertension, atherosclerosis and vascular disease, and type 2 diabetes mellitus. To accomplish this goal, the Center is assembling research programs in basic areas covering cutting edge hypotheses pertinent to the pathogenesis of insulin resistance.
