Caplin Family Charities is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to delivering a positive influence directly to disadvantaged American youth.
Caplin Family Charities’ mission is to transform the lives of those in need through funding, information and outreach programs focused on oral health care and awareness of careers in dentistry.
Caplin Family Charities (CF Charities) was created in response to the oral health care crisis affecting America’s most disadvantaged children.
Some staggering facts surrounding this ongoing crisis:
- Tooth Decay is the single most common chronic childhood disease – five times more common than asthma and seven times more common than hay fever.
- America’s youngest and poorest children (ages two to five and living below the poverty level) have about five times as much tooth decay as children in higher income families.
- Approximately 80% of tooth decay remains untreated in poor children.
- Enrollment in oral health careers from minority American students has remained stagnant at an average of only five percent.
