  • Mission

The mission of the PEAL Center is to educate and empower families to ensure that children, youth and young adults with disabilities and special health care needs lead rich, active lives as full members of their schools and communities.

    About Us

The PEAL Center is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering families of children with disabilities and special health care needs to navigate complex systems, advocate effectively, and ensure their children receive the supports and services they deserve.

We believe that families are their child’s strongest advocates. Through individual assistance, training, and community outreach, we provide clear, unbiased information about special education, early intervention, and transition services so families can make informed decisions. Our work is grounded in equity, inclusion, and cultural responsiveness, with a strong commitment to reaching families whose primary language is not English.

PEAL serves families, youth, and professionals across Pennsylvania, with a focus on historically underserved communities. We work to reduce barriers to access, amplify family voice, and promote inclusive practices in schools and communities.

Our team values collaboration, respect, and continuous learning. We are committed to making systems more understandable and accessible and to ensuring every family feels supported, heard, and empowered.
