Milwaukee Empowerment & Leadership Initiative (MELI), Inc. empowers youth and young adults in underserved communities through leadership development, mentorship, education, and meaningful community connections. We help young people build self-awareness, confidence, practical skills, and supportive relationships so they can make intentional choices, define success for themselves, and create pathways toward their future.

Milwaukee Empowerment & Leadership Initiative (MELI), Inc. is a Milwaukee-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to helping youth and young adults recognize their potential and develop the skills, confidence, and relationships needed to move forward with purpose.

MELI creates opportunities for young people to grow through leadership development, mentorship, empowerment workshops, financial literacy, career readiness, personal and professional development, wellness and resilience, and community engagement.

A central part of MELI's continued growth is the MELI Future Leader Academy, designed for young adults ages 17–24. The Academy focuses on six areas: Self-Leadership; Identity & Purpose; Financial Literacy & Stability; Career Readiness & Professional Skills; Community & Relationships; and Wellness & Resilience.

At MELI, leadership is not defined by having a title or becoming a supervisor. We believe leadership begins with learning to lead yourself—understanding who you are, making intentional choices, developing your abilities, building healthy relationships, and taking ownership of what comes next.

As a growing organization, MELI is also building strong partnerships with schools, businesses, nonprofits, community organizations, mentors, volunteers, and other leaders who share our commitment to expanding opportunities for young people.
