ACLU-TN's mission is to protect and defend individual rights and personal freedoms guaranteed by the Bill of Rights to the United States Constitution and by the Tennessee Constitution. ACLU-TN promotes its goals through advocacy, legislative lobbying, litigation, and public education. The principles ACLU-TN fights for include freedom of speech, expression, and assembly; equal treatment and equal protection under the law regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, disability, and sexual orientation; right to privacy and due process; reproductive freedom; and religious freedom. ACLU-TN focuses on a range of issues including criminal justice, women's rights, racial equality, voting rights, LGBT rights, students rights,immigrants rights, and privacy and technology.
