  • Mission

The Legal Aid Society provides free legal services to more than 8,000 low income residents across a broad range of issues in civil, family, juvenile, and mental disability law. On behalf of the poor, LAS also acts as a private attorney general in class-action and major-impact cases that challenge abusive conduct by large corporations or governmental entities.

The Legal Aid Society provides representation in state and federal courts and administrative agencies, at both the trail and appellate level; it also engages in legislative advocacy on behalf of the poor.
