Safe Perch Exotic Avian Rescue

Safe Perch Exotic Avian Rescue is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming

parrots and exotic birds in need while promoting responsible avian ownership through

education and community outreach. Through a foster-based network, we provide

compassionate care, proper nutrition, enrichment, and veterinary support to birds that

have been surrendered, neglected, or displaced, ensuring each bird has the

opportunity to live a safe, healthy, and enriched life.

Safe Perch Exotic Avian Rescue is a foster-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving parrots and exotic birds in North Georgia. We step in when birds are surrendered, neglected, displaced, or in need of a safer path forward, and we work to give each one individualized care in a home-based foster setting rather than a crowded shelter environment. This model allows us to better monitor health, reduce stress, and learn each bird’s personality, needs, and behaviors so we can make the best long-term placement possible.

Our work goes beyond rescue alone. We believe birds deserve proper nutrition, enrichment, veterinary care, patience, and an environment that supports both their physical and emotional well-being. We also believe responsible avian rescue includes educating the public, supporting adopters, and helping families make informed decisions about the lifelong commitment exotic birds require.

We serve not only birds in crisis, but also the people connected to them — from owners facing difficult surrender decisions to adopters looking for the right match. Our goal is to create safe, stable outcomes that protect the welfare of the bird first. Some birds may be ready for adoption, while others may need longer rehabilitation, specialized care, or permanent sanctuary placement.
