    About Us

Beyond 22 Project is dedicated to improving the long-term wellbeing of adults with disabilities and their families. Too often, after aging out of school-based programs at 22, individuals lose access to the structure, community, and resources they need to thrive. Caregivers face financial strain, limited respite options, and a shortage of support services.

Our work focuses on three key goals:

    1. Increase Caregiver Support: Advocate for higher Medicaid reimbursement rates, expanded caregiving and respite hours, and the flexibility to use qualified private caregivers when state providers are unavailable.
    2. Fund Lifelong, Community-Based Programs: Push for year-round, state-funded opportunities for education, skill-building, and social connection for adults with disabilities.
    3. Elevate Lived Experience: Gather and share the stories of adults with disabilities and their families to shape policy and inspire community action.
