Cheri Honkala Community Center

Our mission is to provide a safe space for people to build community and engage ideas in the pursuit of peace and justice.

Our name is in honor of all the political organizing Cheri Honkala has done over the years. She, and other leaders throughout several decades have founded and ran organizations like the Kensington Welfare Rights Union and Poor Peoples Economic Human Rights Campaign, or now more commonly known as Poor People's Army.

The community center serves as a physical location for our organizing to manifest through services and programs that help in the here and now of survival.
