  • Mission

Koinonia Worship Center & Village, founded in the early 1980s by Dr. Eric H. Jones, Jr., began with twelve charter members and has grown into a vibrant congregation of over 6,000. Located in South Broward, the Center is deeply rooted in community outreach and holistic services. Our mission is to extend a compassionate hand to under-resourced communities, offering vital resources and support to our youth, senior citizens, veterans, and the unhoused. It operates an Early Learning Center serving children in grades K–5, with licensing in place to expand through 12th grade, a Rites of Passage Program from boys and girls (at-risk) with more than a 100-youth graduating from this program and becoming productive citizens in society. Under the leadership of Dr. Jones—who has served on the boards of the Community Re-Entry Program, MAD DADs of Broward, the Jericho Project, Broward County Democratic Black Caucus and as Mayor of West Park—Koinonia addresses critical community needs including health and wellness, food insecurity providing 800 hot meals to the unhoused, substance abuse support providing resources and counseling sessions, and essential resources such as shoes providing 600 annually to the unhoused, veterans and their families. The organization remains a vital hub for empowerment and support in underserved communities with over 51 outreach ministries addressing the community needs.
