    To empower individuals in Portland, Oregon by comprehensive support through housing, treatment, detox, employment, and mentorship referrals, fostering recovery and a fresh start for a healthier, more fulfilling life

    About Us

    Fresh Start Recovery is a nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon, dedicated to supporting African Americans battling addiction and homelessness. Founded by Markas Curtis in 2024, we offer holistic assistance, including counseling, housing aid, and community integration.

    Our Goals:

    • Empower individuals to overcome addiction and homelessness.
    • Provide immediate support and resources.
    • Foster long-term recovery and community integration.
    • Promote self-sufficiency and personal growth.

    Our Programs:

    • Rehabilitation Programs: Culturally sensitive counseling and therapy.
    • Transitional Housing: Safe housing solutions.
    • Job Training: Skills and employment referrals.
    • Community Integration: Support groups and activities.

    Our Achievements:

    • Provided transitional housing to over 50 individuals.
    • Reached more than 100 individuals with counseling services.
    • Built strong local partnerships.
    • Conducted successful awareness campaigns.
