La casa de adobe-Volunteering is a self-sustaining program, based on preserving our culture, our work mainly focuses on provide children and local people an alternative education and conscious development based on tolerance, responsible love and respect for our culture and traditions.
Matapuquio-School is not an official school, but more like an informal and extra-curricular education programme. The kids still follow the official school curriculum at their primary or secondary school and then come to Matapuquio-School where they receive an academic support and they receive a lot of love and understanding and they can develop their artistic skills and their creativity. Illiteracy in rural areas (approx. 14%) is higher than in cities (approx. 4%), and there are more educational opportunities in cities.
