Dominican Learning Center

  • Mission

The Dominican Learning Center is an Adult Learning Center whose mission is to provide one-to-one tutoring to help adults improve their skills in reading, writing, spelling, speaking, listening, mathematics and basic computer use.

    About Us

For over twenty years, the Dominican Learning Center has served immigrants and marginalized Americans as they continue their journey towards speaking English, learning to read, earning a GED or becoming a citizen. We believe that the abilities to read, write, and communicate effectively are critical to personal freedom and the maintenance of a democratic society. We enable learners to transform their lives by acquiring skills to become successful parents, productive workers, and responsible citizens. Volunteer tutors work with learners one-to-one or in groups of 2-3. They meet at a variety of places such as the Dominican Learning Center, St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, the Griffin Center of Christ the King Parish, Martin de Porres Center as well as 27 libraries.
