About Us

Addressing the College completion gap among students attending under resourced schools, The “I Have A Dream” Foundation [IHDF] believes that when given equal access to the resources students need to succeed, all children can ignite their innate potential and achieve their dreams. Founded in 1981, by Philanthropist Eugene M. Lang, The “I Have A Dream” Foundation is a National organization serving 14 Affiliates and over 4000 youth across the nation and New Zealand. While economic and social conditions are the root of the achievement gap, we see it most in black and brown communities. Only by understanding these factors can leaders develop and implement the strategies needed to move the needle, increasing opportunities for life success for many more students.
