Description
“I Have A Dream” Foundation partners with AmeriCorps to help students from low-income communities succeed in school and reach postsecondary success. As a Program Assistant, you’ll mentor students, support families, and help build pathways to lifelong success.;
What You'll Do
- Mentor an assigned caseload of 15–25 “Dream Scholars” as a positive role model and guide
- Plan and lead in-school and after-school academic, social-emotional, and enrichment activities
- Push into classrooms and tutor students one-on-one or in small groups
- Support volunteer tutors, mentors, and other program volunteers
- Engage parents through workshops, discussion groups, and program activities
- Build college and career awareness through job training and internship opportunities
- Maintain student records and support site office operations

Who We're Looking For
- At least 17 (21+ preferred), with a high school diploma or GED
- U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident
- Able to pass required National Service Criminal History Checks
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in education or human services preferred
- Clean driving record and access to a vehicle required

Member Benefits:
Full-Time Commitment
Full-time members serve a minimum of 7.5 hours per weekday, totaling 1,700 hours over your term.
Pay: $20,000 pre-tax stipend, paid twice monthly at $833.33 per pay period.
Education Award: Upon successful completion of your service term, you'll receive a Segal Education Award of $7,398.
Eligible forbearance on qualified federal student loans, with interest potentially paid by the National Service Trust
Health coverage through the AmeriCorps health benefit program (full-time members who qualify)
Child care assistance for eligible members
Hands-on training, mentorship, and professional development throughout your term
Part-Time Commitment
Part-time members serve a minimum of 18 hours per weekday, totaling 900 hours over your term.
Pay: $10,800 pre-tax stipend, paid twice monthly at $450.00 per pay period.
Education Award: Upon successful completion of your service term, you'll receive a Segal Education Award of $3,697.50.
Eligible forbearance on qualified federal student loans, with interest potentially paid by the National Service Trust

This is a paid volunteer opportunity: AmeriCorps members receive a bi-weekly stipend and an education award for completing their service term, whether serving full-time (1,700 hrs) or part-time (900 hrs).
