About Patient Forward

Patient Forward (PF) is a national advocacy and strategy organization working to eliminate barriers to later abortion care and ensure that everyone can access the healthcare they need, when they need it. We educate the public about complex and adverse pregnancy outcomes, elevate patient experiences, and advance policies that support bodily autonomy and access to care without arbitrary time limits.

People seeking abortion care later in pregnancy are disproportionately low-income, underinsured, and young. They are also disproportionately impacted by abortion bans, restrictions, and criminalization – all of which have increased since Roe v Wade was overturned.

Patient Forward is fighting for a future where all pregnant people are met with support, not stigma or punishment. We combine story and strategy to advance an affirmative vision for later abortion care that rejects government interference and criminalization.
