Our Children Oregon

Organization Overview

Our Children Oregon (OCO) brings together Children First for Oregon (CFFO) and the Children’s Trust Fund of Oregon (CTFO). The two organizations with a combined 28 years of history formally merged in January 2020 and are relaunching as Our Children Oregon. This next evolution of our work underscores that all children in Oregon are our children, and we must strengthen our capacity and resolve to ensure all our children have the resources they need to thrive and belong. 

Mission:

Our Children Oregon will be a voice and a force for the common good for all Oregon children, ensuring every child has the opportunity to realize their fullest potential by preventing child abuse, and by elevating the needs and the voices of the most impacted.

Values:

Equity – we examine data, strategies and potential policy through a racial equity lens and advocate for solutions that benefit the children and families in greatest need. 

Hospitality – we lead with compassion to ensure communities we work with and for, feel valued, respected and welcomed.

Whole Child – we take a holistic approach to helping children and families thrive through partnerships and advocacy that increase the number of children who are healthy, safe, engaged, and supported.

Collaboration/Inclusion – we practice shared leadership by inviting, listening and setting a table so that all stakeholders can contribute; we seek to be of service to amplify the voices of those who aren’t often heard.

Long View – we recognize that changing outcomes for children and families is a marathon, not a sprint, and challenge partners to make decisions informs by the long-term potential for children.
