About Us

Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Washtenaw County is a non-profit, youth-serving organization that provides a one-to-one mentoring program. We match children ages 7-15 with positive role models from the community who can provide them with guidance and support in growing socially, emotionally, and academically. Emphasis is placed on producing positive changes in the child through this special friendship that benefits the child at home, at school, and in the community. The primary focus of this program is to expose children to safe, caring, supportive adults who can provide them with opportunities and experiences that they might not otherwise have. They focus on  fostering personal skills that can help children to grow into caring, confident and competent members of the community.
