Legislate for Life is dedicated to addressing the mental health crisis affecting America’s farming communities through education, advocacy, and community engagement. We empower young people to become informed civic leaders while working to raise awareness of farmer mental health challenges, reduce stigma, and promote solutions that support the well-being of agricultural communities. Through policy research, advocacy, and local initiatives, we strive to create meaningful change for farmers and their families.

Legislate for Life is a youth-led nonprofit organization focused on addressing the growing crisis of farmer mental health and suicide while empowering the next generation of civic leaders. We believe that young people have the ability to create meaningful change, whether by engaging with policymakers, advocating for important causes, or taking action within their own communities.

Our primary mission is to raise awareness of the mental health challenges facing farmers and agricultural families. Through policy research, advocacy efforts, educational campaigns, and community-based initiatives, we work to promote solutions that support the well-being of farming communities and bring greater attention to an often overlooked issue.

At the same time, Legislate for Life serves as a platform for leadership development and civic engagement. We teach students how to research public policy, write policy briefs, communicate with elected officials, and advocate for meaningful change. While we encourage young people to engage with Congress and other policymakers, we also believe that lasting impact can begin at the local level. Our goal is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to champion the causes they care about, whether through public policy, nonprofit work, community initiatives, or grassroots advocacy.

By combining service, education, and advocacy, Legislate for Life helps young people turn their passion into action while advancing our mission of supporting farmer mental health and strengthening communities across the country.
