InvestED provides immediate help for secondary students in Washington to improve their attendance, engagement, and graduation rates.
InvestED partners with 650 schools within the state of Washington, providing support for 47,000 students annually. Through this program, schools receive immediate access to funding that provides critical support for low-income students. These funds foster their engagement in school, which in turn improves their attendance and graduation rates.
Being a student is hard enough without socio-economic hurdles. With those additional hurdles it can feel almost impossible. For example, what if you are the only student in your class whose family cannot afford to pay the field trip fee or purchase the equipment needed for sports or music? What if you are the only student shivering at recess without a winter jacket, or can’t afford new shoes? Or if the cost of classroom supplies or college test fees are beyond your family’s reach? Hurdles like these are significant for young people, often leading to disengagement and dropping out.
That is where InvestED steps in. InvestED raises funds to provide reliable, discrete financial support to schools specifically for helping students in financial need, quietly and efficiently serving our most vulnerable students. We ensure that 100% of the funds we raise from donors, grants and corporations go to support educators working to ensure that no student is unable to pay for the activities or items that help them get to school, engage in school and graduate.
