About Us

Unemployed Workers United (UWU) is building the largest poor and working-class coalition to lead a movement that protests for economic equality, claims back our dignity, and fights for healthcare, education, and basic human rights. We have abundance in our collective power to make sure we stop living in fear for ourselves and our future generations. We are a collective of people, organizations, and communities committed to a “new normal” that includes basic rights and justice for every person in the United States. Our mission is to challenge the government that failed us and mobilizes mass-scale people’s power to demand a fair system for the 99% of us and consolidate our national collective power to win quality education, healthcare, and access to fair economic opportunities that will ensure us a secure and safe future.
