    About Us

    About Bainbridge Prepares

Bainbridge Prepares organizes the community to be ready to respond to and recover from any challenge that test our community’s resilience, including natural and human-caused disasters. We are the largest volunteer-driven organization in Kitsap County (Washington state).

    Who We Serve

Our primary area of service is the 27-square-mile Bainbridge Island with a population of 24,825. As the island is a popular tourist destination, we also support the needs of stranded non-residents and workers who may be unable to leave the island in the event of a major disaster.

    What We Do

Bainbridge Prepares, in partnership with Bainbridge Island Fire Department and the City of Bainbridge Island in four overlapping program areas:

    1. Creating awareness and educating the community about the importance of preparedness.
    2. Training community members on the skills they need to prepare for an emergency.
    3. Exercising readiness by validating emergency plans, procuring emergency supplies, developing emergency response procedures, and exercising volunteers to be ready to respond.
    4. Recruiting and engaging volunteers who are essential to preparation and response efforts.

    Cause Areas Include

    • Community Development
