Rohi Foundation Cameroon
Mission
Rohi Foundation Cameroon provides holistic care, support, and empowerment to vulnerable populations in Cameroonian society, with a primary focus on underprivileged children
About Us
Who We Are
Rohi Foundation ( Special Status with ECOSOC)is a grassroots, Christian faith-based, non-governmental organization founded in Bamenda, Cameroon, by Rev. Dr. Fuhbang Emmanuel Tanifum. Operating on the ground since 2007, we step directly into the spaces most impacted by regional crises—particularly the Anglophone crisis—to bridge the gap between trauma and healing, poverty and opportunity.
The word Rohi means "Soul" or "My Shepherd"—signifying our core commitment to a pure, everlasting duty of care. We envision a society where every action is motivated by compassion and love.
🤝 Whom We Serve
We act as a vital safety net for the most vulnerable, marginalized, and deeply impacted individuals in Cameroonian society. Our everyday support extends to:
- Underprivileged & Abused Children: Providing safe havens, counseling, and psychosocial protection.
- Crisis-Affected Demographics: Offering relief to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), widows, teenage mothers, and orphans left vulnerable by ongoing instability.
- The Sick & Helpless: Meeting critical physical needs for those lacking medical resources or facing severe illnesses.
🌱 Our Core Values
Our work is entirely driven by a deep scriptural foundation and a humanitarian mandate:
- Our Motto (Faith, Hope, and Love): We believe that dynamic community transformation begins with pure faith, is sustained by unshakeable hope, and is active through radical love.
- Human Rights & Social Justice: We actively safeguard the innate rights of every individual, standing against systemic abuse and exploitation.
- Compassionate Care: We value human life deeply, believing that true community survival begins with nurturing the helpless.
🚀 What We Do (Our Pillars of Impact)
We address community challenges through a comprehensive, five-part framework:
- Peace Education & Intercultural Advocacy: We actively dismantle the cycles of violence. Through national campaigns and partnerships with global networks like World BEYOND War, we train community stakeholders, civil society, and educators in mediation and structural peacebuilding.
- Holistic Education Sponsorship: Believing that education breaks generational poverty, we secure tuition, school supplies, and career guidance for marginalized children. We even helped establish the Martin Luther King Jr. Institute (MALUKU Institute) in Bamenda to nurture transformative leadership.
- Community Healthcare & Palliative Care: We coordinate targeted health campaigns, provide family counseling, deliver sexual/reproductive health education, and supply community-level palliative care to those dealing with severe or terminal medical conditions.
- Vocational Training & Micro-Capital: To counter youth unemployment, we run entrepreneurship modules, skill training, and digital literacy classes, equipping youth with the tools to gain financial independence.
- Humanitarian & Family Restoration: From distributing food and survival assets to displaced families to offering family planning and deep counseling for bereavement and trauma, we aim to mend fractured households.
