Fox Chase Farm is operated by the School District of Philadelphia as a demonstration farm and educational center and is the Philadelphia School District’s Hub of Agricultural Education for Pre-K through 12th grade students. Fox Chase Farm is one of two working farms in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Formerly owned by the Wistar family, the farm is located at 8500 Pine Road in the Fox Chase neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia on the border with Montgomery County. The farm gradually became surrounded by the city's residential neighborhoods and was purchased by the city in 1975. It is now run as an educational farm by the School District of Philadelphia. Fox Chase Farm is a living classroom where students of all ages connect with nature, agriculture and each other through hands-on learning that cultivates curiosity, career exploration and experiences, responsibility and a deeper understanding of the food system.
