  • Mission

The Welcome to America Project is a nonprofit organization creating community connections by providing furniture, basic necessities, education, and additional resources to newly arriving refugees. Together with our volunteers, we can support a family’s new start in America and leave an impact that lasts a lifetime.

    About Us

The Welcome to America Project (WTAP) supplies household essentials, clothing, bikes, books, and resources to families that have been resettled in Arizona through the Refugee resettlement process. We collect high quality furniture and household items from donors throughout Phoenix and, with a dedicated group of local volunteers, we deliver these furnishings to refugee families who have recently arrived to the U.S. Since 2001, WTAP has proudly welcomed more than 25,000 refugees from over 50 countries, helping them begin new lives with dignity and hope. Through meaningful connections and essential resources, we empower our newest neighbors to achieve self-sufficiency and add to the strength and vibrancy of our community.
