  • Mission

Established in 2005, the AACY is the first and only organization in the United States that supports the young caregivers of ill, elderly or disabled family members. AACY assists and supports caregiving youth. Through our many platforms we help our young restore their role as children and help them succeed academically, psychologically, developmentally and socially. We build bridges between the systems of healthcare, education, and community. Because of AACY’s recognition of their needs we can help them in school, out of school and at home so they can develop the skills they need to juggle school, homework, caregiving and social time. Proudly, our youth graduates go on to be successful and many return to mentor other caregiving youth. Mission of AACY - we champion youth who provide care for chronically ill, injured, elderly, and/or disabled family members. We support their role as caregiver and guide their success in school and life.

    About Us

Since 2005 we have gone from servicing the needs of one school to currently servicing 38 schools across Palm Beach County. Our goal is to raise awareness and encourage other cities and states to help support caregiving youth. We want to give caregiving youth the same opportunities as their peers. We supply tutoring, mentoring, amazing activities like Camp Treasure, an overnight camp, a holiday party and numerous social activities. Our Family Specialists are trained to discover youth who have been caregiving silently alone and offer the support needed to achieve their goals and help them find the smiles needed to enjoy their middle and high school years.

Vision of AACY - we envision a nation in which there is understanding, appreciation, and celebration of the lives of Caregiving Youth on their individual path to life’s dreams and opportunities.
