    About Us

Open Heart Kitchen’s mission is to ensure equitable access to nutritious food today while building a food-secure tomorrow. We are committed not only to addressing immediate needs in the Tri-Valley, but also to advancing long-term solutions that strengthen and uplift our community.

Our guests include seniors, individuals experiencing homelessness, underemployed individuals, and low-income families who rely on us as a vital safety net against hunger. We believe that food is a basic human right and are dedicated to serving our diverse and growing community with dignity and compassion.

We welcome volunteers ages 16 and older, and our program is designed with flexibility in mind — there is no minimum time commitment required. Once registered, you can choose shifts that fit your schedule, whether that’s weekly, monthly, or occasionally.
