Steps To Dignity USA

Mission Statement: Steps to Dignity USA, in partnership with Future Leaders Initiative SL, advances the rights, safety, and well-being of children and families in rural Sierra Leone. We build violence-free learning environments and accessible healthcare services—starting with the region’s first No-Hit Zone school and a community health clinic—so every child can learn with dignity and every mother can access essential care close to home. Guided by community leadership, accountability, and sustainable development, we turn donated land and local engagement into lasting educational and health infrastructure that protects the most vulnerable and uplifts entire communities.

Our mission is to break the cycle of abuse and abject poverty of the children in rural Sierra Leone by building a No Hit Zone school and health clinic where the children will be safe from physical and sexual abuse while pursuing their studies and where poor families in rural communities can access health care. By providing access to a safe space for children to learn and a safe space for families to seek medical care, we safeguard the rights and well being of vulnerable children and families, support vulnerable communities and provide pathways to a brighter future. Every dollar helps eliminate violence and rebuilds communities because each village family who wants to participate must commit to making their homes a safe zone where children are safe from physical harm.
