At the American Cancer Society our mission is to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer. Our goal is to end cancer as we know it, for everyone.
About Us
The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. For more than 100 years, ACS has been leading the fight against cancer through groundbreaking research, patient support, advocacy, and education.
With a presence in communities across the country, ACS provides:
✅ Funding for lifesaving research to discover new treatments and cures
✅ Support services for patients and caregivers, including lodging, transportation, and 24/7 helplines
✅ Prevention and early detection programs to promote healthier lifestyles and screenings
✅ Advocacy efforts to influence public policy and expand access to care
