About Us

Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that inspires a love of reading, builds community, and sparks creativity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges around the world. Through Little Free Libraries, millions of books are exchanged each year, profoundly increasing access to books for readers of all ages and backgrounds. Today there are over 70,000 Little Free Library book-sharing boxes circulating millions of free books in all 50 states and more than 80 countries around the world. The organization is based in Hudson, Wisconsin, where founder Todd H. Bol created the first Little Free Library in 2009.
