  • Mission

SLO Village Movement is a non-profit, membership organization focused on empowering older adults to sustain independence and continue living lives of purpose and promise through social connection, personal growth, community-minded support, and helpful services.

    About Us

SLO Village was founded in 2016 by a group of active older adults in SLO County who wanted their retirement years to be engaging and purposeful. Our Village is part of the grassroots “Village Movement” that began in Beacon Hill, MA in 2002. There are now over 350 Villages internationally and 50 throughout the state of California

    Where is SLO Village Movement?

SLO Village Movement is not a retirement facility or assisted living community. "It is a way of living, rather than a place to live". A village is a membership organization that connects older adults to the community, programming, and expertise they need to continue living lives of purpose and promise.

SLO Village Movement is a community-minded group of individuals created by members and volunteers living in their homes throughout the Central Coast. SLO Village Movement serves residents in San Luis Obispo County with most of our members residing in the San Luis Obispo City limits.
