About Us
St. Andrew’s Refugee Services (StARS) is a refugee service provider located in Cairo, Egypt. Founded in 1979 by the congregation of St. Andrew’s United Church of Cairo, StARS operates from a rights and community based approach and provides services regarding education, legal aid, and psychosocial support. Furthermore StARS works with refugee communities through its Community Outreach Program. Our students and clients come from Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, Ethiopia, Iraq, Somalia, Eritrea, and elsewhere. In the 2016/17 operating year, StARS will reach approximately 16,000 refugees through direct service provision and capacity building efforts.
