  • Mission

The Lupus Foundation of America, Lone Star Chapter is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all people affected by lupus through programs of research, education, support, and advocacy.

    About Us

Lupus is a serious and chronic autoimmune disease that causes inflammation and tissue damage to virtually every organ system in the body. It can affect many parts, including the skin, joints, blood and blood vessels, heart, lungs, kidneys and brain. Lupus is hard to diagnose, difficult to manage, incurable, and potentially fatal. Current statistics indicate that lupus is more prevalent in this country than AIDS, sickle cell anemia, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, and cystic fibrosis combined, and it is the least known of all major diseases.
