The First Tee of Western New York
The First Tee of Western New York provides young people with character-building and life skills lessons using golf as the platform. Through The First Tee, young people discover how skills essential to success on a golf course can also help them flourish in life.
The First Tee is dedicated to serving Western New York's youth with excellence as we promote life-enhancing values such as integrity, judgment, perseverance, confidence and sportsmanship through the fun and challenging game of golf. Our commitment to the community is to provide excellence in instructors, trained and dedicated to fulfill our mission, as well as provide learning opportunities to participating youth who would not otherwise have affordable access to the game. We are an official Chapter of the nationally acclaimed The First Tee program, created by The World Golf Foundation in 1997. Primary objectives evolve around providing young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop, through golf and character education, life-enhancing values such as honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, confidence, perseverance, judgment, courtesy, respect, and responsibility. There are many sports that teach valuable lessons; The First Tee program proactively teaches these life lessons as part of the basic instruction program, woven into the golf experience itself.
Nine Core Values: Responsibility, Sportsmanship, Perseverance, Confidence, Judgment, Honesty, Respect, Courtesy, and Integrity.
