Garden State Rainbow Sports

Garden State Rainbow Sports (GSRS) is a New Jersey–based nonprofit dedicated to creating inclusive, welcoming sports leagues and community events for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies. Our mission is to foster belonging, visibility, and wellness through athletics and shared experiences. We believe everyone deserves a safe space to play, connect, and build community — regardless of skill level or background.

Through recreational leagues, social events, and volunteer engagement, GSRS works to strengthen LGBTQ+ community ties across New Jersey while promoting health, teamwork, and inclusion.

Garden State Rainbow Sports (GSRS) is a volunteer-led nonprofit serving LGBTQ+ individuals and allies across New Jersey. While we are currently centered in Hudson County, particularly Jersey City, our long-term vision is to build a truly statewide LGBTQ+ sports network.

We organize inclusive recreational sports leagues and community events that create welcoming spaces for connection, wellness, and belonging. Our programs are open to all skill levels, with a focus on participation, teamwork, and respect.

Through leagues, events, and volunteer engagement, GSRS is committed to growing a supportive and visible LGBTQ+ sports community throughout New Jersey.
