    Description

    Garden State Rainbow Sports (GSRS) is seeking a Volunteer Grant Writer to support our growing organization in identifying, developing, and submitting grant opportunities that align with our mission and programs.

    This role will directly support funding efforts for upcoming inclusive Golf and Tennis programs, as well as additional initiatives currently in our development pipeline. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about LGBTQ+ inclusion, community development, and sports equity, and who is looking to make a meaningful impact through their writing and research skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with GSRS’s mission and programming
    • Evaluate grant eligibility and strategic fit
    • Draft and edit grant proposals, narratives, and supporting materials
    • Collaborate with GSRS leadership to gather program information and impact data
    • Assist in developing and maintaining a grant calendar and submission tracker
    • Support submission of applications and follow-up reporting (as needed)

    Qualifications

    • Experience in grant writing, nonprofit development, or related field (preferred but not required)
    • Strong writing, research, and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
    • Interest in LGBTQ+ inclusion, community-building, and/or sports-based programming
    • Familiarity with nonprofit operations is a plus

    GSRS is entering an exciting phase of growth, with a focus on securing funding to support upcoming programs and long-term sustainability. The selected candidate will play a key role in helping to identify priority opportunities and move initial grant submissions forward.
