Seattle Walk for Pulmonary Fibrosis

  • Mission

The Seattle Walk for Pulmonary Fibrosis, a 501c3 project of Cascadia Now!, is open to everyone and unites all working to make a difference in the fight against pulmonary fibrosis (PF). Our mission is to raise awareness of Pulmonary Fibrosis, a complex disease without a cure that affects more than 250,000 Americans annually, and with approximately 50,000 new cases diagnosed each year. As well as raise funds to support the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundations efforts to accelerate research, advance improved care for those living with the disease, and provide unequaled support and education resources for patients, caregivers, family members, and healthcare providers.

    About Us

The Seattle Walk for Pulmonary Fibrosis, is a 501c3 project of Cascadia Now! All three Co-Chairs are Pulmonary Fibrosis patients, as are 4 members of the SW4PF planning team. The remaining 2 members of the planning team have lost family members to Pulmonary Fibrosis. So this is a very personal passion project for this organization.

The Seattle Walk began as a social gathering for PF patients 18+ years ago. It was started by a patient/member of the Greater Seattle PF Support Group. Those associated with the social group became a PFF walk team and have participated in many PFF National Walk days. We decided that we could be more effective in raising awareness and fundraising, if we had 501c3 status and could solicit sponsorships. We partnered with Cascadia Now! as our 501c3 fiscal sponsor in 2025. This is our first year we have actively recruited sponsorships, as well as members of the public to join us. We have tripled our fundraising from last year, and are still actively fundraising!

We welcome all to participate. There is no registration fee, or required donation to participate. Our efforts will help to positively impact all in the Interstitial Lund Disease-Pulmonary Fibrosis community, by raising critical funds for research to improve care, and hopefully a cure, for those living with the PF. All proceeds from the Seattle Walk will be donated to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation to support their outstanding efforts on behalf of all impacted by this disease.
