  • Mission

The Initiative for Public Art in Africa empowers African youth together with their local communities. We nurture and harness their talent through year-round art-based educational programs and community organizing to holistically promote African prosperity - one community, region and country at a time.

    About Us

The Initiative for Public Art in Africa piloted its first program in 2013 with a government school and private school located in Lagos. Today the organization works with the Ministry of Education to rotate schools every year impacting different communities in various districts in Lagos.

Our students have had the opportunity to visit NYC and Ghana through cultural exchange programs. Our students have participated in program that introduced them to new industries in advertising, agriculture, and tech. And through the efforts of our volunteers and professional partners we are able to provide small grants to students and volunteers interested in furthering their studies and/or piloting their own projects.

All of our young people in Africa should have access to advancement opportunities, resources, and networks to become the best people they can be for Africa and the world. Public Art Africa sets out to provide young Nigerians and their African neighbors with access to resources and opportunities that focus on life skills and career readiness.

Our work is done in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and we target youths attending public and government schools.
