  • Mission

The New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) is the non-partisan political arm of New York State's environmental community. With offices in New York City, Albany and Erie County, NYLCV seeks to make environmental protection a top priority with New York's elected officials, political candidates, environmental organizations and voters.

    About Us

NYLCV believes that the single greatest threat to the environment is not global warming, dirty air or water --- rather politics as usual! With a 99% re-election rate for elected officials and less than a 40% voter turnout in New York State, politicians can become complacent about making environmental protection a top priority. To counter this, NYLCV endorses pro-environmental politicians and works for their election. NYLCV also works to unseat incumbents and defeat candidates with anti-environmental platforms, legislation, votes and actions. No other environmental organization in New York State is dedicated to this purpose.
