Pfotenpiloten Alliance for Assistance Dogs

  • Mission

Pfotenpiloten empowers individuals with disabilities to take off into new autonomy with the help of a well-qualified assistance dog. We do not train teams ourselves. Instead, our independent nonprofit organization establishes important foundations for acceptance, quality assurance, and support.

Our most prominent project, DogMap.info, arose out of a three-year access campaign for the German government. It has been growing quickly and helps users discover and mark (assistance) dog-friendly places.

    About Us

Our independence is of core importance to our work. Pfotenpiloten also supports the Assistance Dog Foundation, a Dutch nonprofit started by the same founder, which provides independent, video-supported team certifications. Both act as mediators between all stakeholders involved.

Our mission is to establish lasting foundations in the largely unregulated assistance dog sector, balancing the needs of handler, dog, provider, funder, and public.
