Stamford History Center

  • Mission

The Stamford History Center, also known as the Stamford Historical Society, is an educational and research institution, whose primary functions are to collect, preserve, conserve, interpret, and exhibit materials relating to Stamford, Connecticut and New England.

    About Us

Our resources include a Research Library, a Museum with changing exhibits, a photo archive, and an extensive collection of artifacts. We offer school programs and tours of our 1699 Hoyt-Barnum House. The History Center is dedicated to community enrichment through the presentation of exhibits, displays, special events, demonstrations, and participatory programs that have as their objective a population enlightened by an understanding of the past and committed to an objective vision for the future. As the Stamford History Center, we have a responsibility to all citizens of our community to preserve the varied experiences that reflect our cultural heritage. Our facility is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 to 4.
