Complete Playground

Complete Playground is an inclusive discovery center dedicated to serving children of all abilities, including neurotypical and neurodivergent children, through science, technology, arts, sports, play, and community-based programming.

The organization provides hands-on STEM learning, interactive exhibits, creative arts and music programs, sports and movement activities, and inclusive play environments that support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

We are committed to accessibility through scholarships, sliding-scale programs, and partnerships with schools and community organizations, ensuring all families have access to high-quality educational and developmental experiences.

Autism and neurodiversity support remain a core part of the mission, alongside this broader inclusive model.

Inclusive Programs & Sports Ecosystem

In 2025, Complete Playground delivered large-scale inclusive programming serving 8,000+ children monthly through daily play, STEAM, fitness, and enrichment programs. A major milestone was the expansion of New York City’s first fully inclusive sports ecosystem in partnership with the Special Olympics, providing structured pathways for children of all abilities through Young Athletes, Junior Athletes, and Motor Activity Training programs.

Programming included STEM, robotics, creative arts, movement, and sensory-friendly experiences, alongside inclusive events such as birthday programs and camps.

Community Access & Inclusive Engagement

In 2025, Complete Playground expanded access through scholarships, sliding-scale programming, and community partnerships, ensuring participation from diverse and underserved populations across NYC. CP delivered inclusive afterschool programs, camps, STEM education, and social-emotional learning initiatives, particularly in high-need communities.

With intentional outreach to 260+ Title I and underserved schools, Complete Playground prioritizes accessibility through 20% scholarships and 30% sliding-scale programs, working to eliminate financial, geographic, and systemic barriers to participation. In 2025, we hosted 260+ public, private, and specialized school visits and currently serve 8,000+ children monthly, with a goal of reaching 16,000 per month by 2027, including 30%+ children with diagnosed or emerging developmental needs.

Scientific Research & Strategic Partnerships

In 2025, Complete Playground strengthened its role as a research-informed leader in neuro-inclusive development through strategic partnerships with leading institutions. A key collaboration with the GENES:IS Lab at the University of Houston, led by Dr. Elena Grigorenko, supports research into children’s experiences and informs continuous program improvement. As part of this research, more than 30 families - both neurotypical and neurodivergent - participated in in-person focus groups, along with more than 100 families who participated virtually.
