  • Mission

    The Japan-America Society of Southern Colorado is a non-profit 501c(3) educational and cultural organization promoting increased awareness, education, and understanding between the citizens of Southern Colorado and Japan.

    About Us

    We are a grassroots, nonprofit organization with a volunteer board. We have been bringing awareness of Japanese culture to Southern Colorado since 1998, and if you have attended events like Mochitsuki Festival(rice pounding in January), Children's Day Festival (typically held at CC), or the Japanese Cultural Bazaar(held at UCCS), you have supported our mission! We dream of bringing more opportunities to connect and engage with Japanese culture to people all over Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and everywhere in-between. Our vision is enrich Southern Colorado with endless opportunities to engage with Japanese culture.

    JASSC is always looking for volunteers to help with events and program development, and we especially need people with the following talents at this time:

    - Treasury and accounting experience (we're looking for a new treasurer!)

    - event planning experience

    - legal experience

    - Japanese-American or Japanese cultural knowledge

    - knowledge of Japanese language

    - a general passion for spreading the love of Japanese culture!
