Persimmon Tree is a quarterly online magazine of writing, art, and music, by older women. Persimmon Tree's mission is to counter the agism and sexism that dominates even the cultural world by publishing the writing and art of women over 60. Persimmon Tree both provides a place where talented and creative older women can be published and a way for its readers to experience the unique and necessary perspective of women whose wisdom and skill has been honed by experience and deep learning.

In furtherance of its mission, Persimmon Tree is free to readers. Its editors volunteer their time and skill. Persimmon Tree's revenue comes almost entirely from individual donations.
