    The mission of Augustine Literacy Project is to train and support volunteers to teach low income children who struggle with literacy skills to read, write, and spell. Our program is evidenced based and grounded in phonics. Instruction is one tutor and one child and free to families. Children in Durham, Wake, Orange, Chatham, and Chapel Hill -Carrboro are eligible for our services.
